How Society Can Help Children, Families and Individuals Cope with Divorce

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present some examples of good practice which help parents and children during divorce, drawn from authors who work in the USA. In Slovenia, the help available to parents and families during divorce is only in the state of infancy, and this article can be a starting point for the development of such programmes.

Nataša Rijavec Klobučar, Ph.D., Catholic Faculty of Theology, University of Ljubljana

Nataša Rijavec Klobučar graduated in 2001 from the Department of Education Scientes, University of Ljubljana. In 2004 she finished her specialization in marital and family therapy at the Faculty of Theology, University of Ljubljana, and in 2010 she received her Doctorate in Pedagogy, at the Department of Educational Scientes, University of Ljubljana. In 2013 she became assistant at the Department for Psychology and Sociology of Religion, University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Theology. Since 2001, she has been working as an adult educator, and since 2004, she participates in psychotherapeutic and research work in different organizations. She actively participated in international conferences at home and abroad.
